South African National Parks (Addo Elephant Park) lies deep within the shadows of the dense valley bushveld of the Sundays River region of the Eastern Cape in South Africa. Safe from relentless persecution in the past, the elephants can now roam in peace.
Client requirements: In 2005 I joined Gate 7 Consulting Services as a consultant to help with their client Addo Elephant Park. The client required a total overall of their marketing and communications strategies. This included all advertising and marketing material as well as their website.
The project: My role was to start with a total Usabiltiy review of their website, do market and company research and come up with a list of priorities to get their website in line with current web trends. The same was done for all their marketing and advertising material.
My comments: This was one of my more interesting projects. One where there was a total revamp of the company's strategies, not just their website. The client also gave us a lot of freedom to come up with totally new ideas and thoughts. It was also really good to have meetings at the client's offices, which is on the reserve, with the animals very close by.
